(As this Saga enters and after your draw step, add a lore counter. Sacrifice after III.)
I — Create a 1/1 white Human Soldier creature token and a Food token. (A Food token is an artifact with "{2}, {T}, Sacrifice this token: You gain 3 life.")
II, III — You may put an Aura or Equipment card from your hand or graveyard onto the battlefield. If an Equipment is put onto the battlefield this way, you may attach it to a creature you control.
rulings
- 2024-03-08An Aura put onto the battlefield this way doesn't target anything (so it could be attached to an opponent's permanent with hexproof, for example), but the Aura's enchant ability restricts what it can be attached to. If the Aura can't legally be attached to anything, you can't choose to put it onto the battlefield at all.
- 2024-11-08Food is an artifact type. Even though it appears on some creatures, it's never a creature type.
- 2024-11-08You can't sacrifice a Food to pay multiple costs. For example, you can't sacrifice a Food token to activate its own ability and also to activate Maraleaf Rider's ability.
- 2024-11-08Whatever you do, don't eat the delicious cards.
